 ACE 05
So my gamertag is ACE 05...
I played alot with the guys from RoC (Strider, Scarface). BoG (RMBD012945 LOL, Tronar Gato), Dymaxion (Ataartik), La Onda , Veritas (DM725)
I was part of a clan with Dirt E Gomez, Finrod, ItsBob, Josh, Runz
I liked Mechassault much more than Mech 2 so when Mech 2 got big, I moved on.
Favorite Mech is of course the Rag. Map is hands down River City because it was one of the few original maps. Alot of games and alot of drama happened on that map.
I saw alot of clans form and fall. The idea of RoC (Reigning over clans) and their 100-0 bs score LOL because Greek was full of himself. Wallwalking, and sniping...the discovery of the double shot and using missiles to aim long range. I saw alot of gaming groups like T.U.G.G. and Hellslayers grow and shrink. Most of the names/gamertags look familiar, I am sure I have logged in more than a few hours with most of you.
- Anything else you'd like to tell everyone.

 Re: ACE 05
O, this is a repost from the xbox forums that I just found. Figure it might trigger some older memories...
"I started playing with GrokPerl and his catapult who was apparently a close friend of GracieSlayer who I had the pleasure of meeting in person regardless of our age differences. Gracie Slayer had almost as much knowledge as I did at the end of my Mech experience of the game which is sayin quite a bit. I played around with IceEyes (stat *** but really nice guy and being a newb I didn't know any better), Bachelor Pad (had his own clan with scary aaron), Metallic Rage (one of the best prome players, invented the curved warhammer along with antilope (never joined up with a clan)), members of NAR including adummet (most annoying voice), toothless carnie (the most amazing hackman in the game, all round good guy), Maynerd (mad cat) who introduced me to clans and the clan ladder xboxclanwars which was headed by kooder and kleeduhs. It was an extension of the xbox "greens" the original xbox forums for xbox live gamers. There I would post almost daily with serino, outlawjdw, biglou34, and many many other gamers who mostly were posting about how cheap the mad cat was as a mech because of its ppc. People shared tricks and the "new" wallwalking at the time which was discovered in a RoC tdk training room by Waxxer's guest and Josh77 told me about it afterwards. I played around alot and wasn't respected at the time but was working my way up. I played under the tag of Destroyer87 and was a member of the hellslayers website. I played alot with Sickdog77 (kit fox), elbacon (mad cat) and pocket rocket (rag), I dunno what his tag is now. I've played Mechassault for pretty much a full four years going all the way through high school. I played along side xboxxboxxbox in the very early days when River City was just Yellow spawn vs. Red spawn, right after RC was Red vs. Blue spawn. I played with xboxxboxxbox and this guy xboxjunkie72 who I later found was a pretty big stat ***. While playing with maynerd I bumped into a bunch of his buddies including preston89 and one of the best mech players in this game, Joltflash and his 2 vs 2 partner, Defter. I met up with the BoG players, Mas0n, Tronar Gato, RMBD some number (named himself after the serial code on the back of his box) and ColdBloodKiller and Sultan of ***.
I created a new gamertag, ACE 05. I spent the bulk of my time building up a name for myself and posting on the forums almost religiously,. I played the most with La Onda and BoG memeber such as JR01, Good huh, Elighden, Godhunter, Sultan of ***, thatroger, mas0n. I played with finrod (co-leader of Decepticons), Dirt E Gomez, DeadSpace (co-leader of SOS and editor of House of Tyr), Atartik (leader of Dymaxion which eventually separated to form Dymaxion and the members that left with DM725 who were more serious about gaming), Everyone came to the assumption that I had a former gamertag, and eventually on the forums I spilled the beans on the original greens. Pocket Rocket practically headed an investigation into the matter and many players were disgusted at the display but there were so many gamers that knew me as ACE 05 that it didn't even really matter because I was already known and had changed myself to reflect a new gamertag. Kooder and conn (ctf greats) would keep harassing me about it even though there really was no solid proof until I said something about it. Kooder and the rest of his circle (conn, kleeduhs, enders, missee, serino) all forgave. Members of hellslayers could not and were bitter about it. Everyone told me to just let them go because they weren't gamers with good skill or attitude anyway.
I'd read on the forums about red phoenix acting as an official correspondent even though he was a regular poster but had great knowledge and was very helpful to those people on the forums and did it in a very official way. I had the chance to play with him in CTF and TD on occasion and he was a very cool person who went on to be moderator and unfortunately was less liked because of the strict rules the xbox forums have with posting. I learned alot from reading the green forums and hearing from all different corners of the game and seeing the attitudes of different players and then going into games with them to see their style of play. By the end of the game I had known everyone's gaming style of every gamertag that I could recognize. I learned about the history matches of mechassault like RoC vs. BoG, and La Onda vs. Veritas, and new school Veritas with RoC members on their best map being defeated by Decepticons, Endual and Korysixx and their new school group leading domination from the very end of Mechassault into Mechassault 2 although they didn't care enough to continue with it. I became so intrigues after reading interviews on the official xbox site with unreal insanity and azeziel, two gamers that I had played with and known very well. It was such a large group of gamers that I knew I was part of and that I wanted to make a difference and be up there as an influence, but if anything Mechassault had the influence on me. I came to be part of an even larger group of Mechassault addicts that would play mechassault all night long before going back to school each morning only to look forward to coming back late at night and playing. It was a group that I could relate to by sharing the same itnerest.
I played with the Decepticons for a good while afterwards. Finrod, Cadmaster, Dirt E, itsbob, josh77. I played with the la onda crew especially JR01 and GoodHuh, being a 3 vs 5 team for weeks and just having fun with it. I met Triphidius and played him to realize he's a nice guy. I played and talked to sublime3663 alot and played with him and cheeburger (who is a really great player but sooo conceited LOL) and the rest of his clan that he was a part of under DM725. Strider Jin throughout the years seemed like some mech god that no one could knock down and when I finally got the change to play him he I observed more than anyone. His attitude was friendly although he would never be up for losing a match in a clan battle, he didn't care even if he had to go negative kills if his team made up for it. He was the first in my mind to ever do this and I know he's been doing it since the day this came out and he was involved in leading RoC to the success it had along with Hennesy, Waxxer, Scarface007 (one of the great mechassault/wolfenstein players) and GeorgetheGreek (one of the biggest influences in mech mostly regarding his negative racict comments that he would be quite fond of posting on the forums. he also overtook RoC (reigning over clans - the original mechassault clan that dominated the first generation of mech players) and turned it into a clan with a really bad reputation that was exploited by Band of Gamers ( the peoples clan). For such a long time Strider was regarded as the best Ragnarok ever and he was really really good but eventually people caught up to his level and he moved on to learn the prometheus which he excelled at once again. His style above anyone elses was ideal. He would snipe from afar and use cover to his best advantage and when he went in, he went in powerful with level threes and support. After playing with great players over and over I picked little things up from each gamer, never really from playing any 1 vs 1's which many great gamers thought was the only way to prove your use as a team player.
By the end of playing with all these people, years had passed by and I was respected and regarded in every Team Destruction room I went into and there were still hundreds of gamers playing per day. I remember talking to Elighden and how I wanted to build my confidence through playing this game which I did. It brought me out of depression and acted like medicine to give me confidence and I could never repay enough to this game. I had a goal to play this game with real determination, to not win but get real enjoyment knowing every detail and how close I would be to destroying each mech and how close I would be to cover and my own health and managing heat and placement of my team and other team and movements and knowing that first shot hurts 1/8 more than other shots unless I back off for more than 40 seconds and knowing how to double shot and to lose smoke after having it by staying still and turning invisible. I stayed up night after night on even the coldest nights in front of my tv with lack of sleep, it was a second life for me. Other games I would get tired of, but not mechassault, not on xbox live. I could go through an entire day breakfast, lunch and dinner and still be sitting in front of my tv perfectly satisfied. Even on holidays and birthdays, not wanting anything more than just being there and playing mech. That's all I wanted for the longest time.
I had built up so much confidence in myself as a gamer but also as a person. I played with so many after that point and never really had too many enemies. There's always a few people like FIREMONSTER that I just could never please or make ammends with. I branched out to play Destruction matches with street ape around the time this forums was getting so many comments by SSSICK about how destruction players are dominating. I gained respect for destruction after playing it and holding my own in there and doing just as well as the top players in destruction as I should be able to. So many nights, I runz ya and doobz and scarface, we'd all bumrush rooms and just laugh about it under diff tags like the asylum guys, totally taking advantage of a group of guys whether they were good or not, just grouped together with no real teamwork. Eveyone formed groups and would say to one another "let's go bumrush, send me an invite" and one person would leave. You'd be the one sitting in their room listening to them saying that and seeing how universal it all is and how it comes full circle.
C4ASTOR was Triphidius' guest who lived down the street from Triph back in the day. I started playing with Castor and training him a little and showed him how to play a ragnarok and tips and tricks. I also played alot with Psychophobia and Jhiggins who had no interest except to play in random games and I suggested joining a clan to them. They improved alot playing with me against higher level skillwise rooms. I introduced them to the La Onda crew and they came to like each other through JR01 who was starting to take over La Onda from Strider. Jhiggins and Psycho blended right into the clan. Castor threw his xbox out of his window because he was playing too much of it and it was taking away from his career as a dj. Kooder and I talked about his career and how he was doing para legal work at the time aside from being a dj. Mxypltk (sry still can't spell it) and I had become great XBOX LIVE friends playing in rooms with each other. He was a big fan of PAYNE316 who is a good rag player. Mxy one day told me where he lived and wasn't far from me at all. We met up for a meal. Later I was able to meet his lovely wife and we had another dinner together with Gracie Slayer and it was so interesting to see what I had never seen before which was the clash between online and actual personalities which amazed me and reminded me of my interest to have a Mechassault convention which would have been so awesome.
The last time I played was with Destruction players Ghostface and SSSICK who had come to respect me as a gamer and I had proved I was able to keep up with the Destruction pace in their gametype which I have taken on as another gametype of my own. And there's alot missing but that's the best I can do off the top of my head."

I simply thought I'd share this from what I found in the old xbox forums because reminded me of older veteran players.

Well, you chose to post your mech life story there, but left that little, interesting part out. I never let it go because I cried for no reason. Anyway, I'll try to let it go. I'm just glad your alive and well. Later son.

 Re: ACE 05
1. Perhaps part of the reason the "interesting" part was left out was not to dwell on that sort of drama that brought tears to your eyes... The story was put up, sure, but alot of it was about the people I used to play with and thats what I wanted thus my intent to "leave out" your favorite part
2. If you cannot let this small story from an online video game that happened many years ago go, how can you cope with the many other bigger issues of everyday life? It is not worth NOT letting go
3. As I said earlier, it's ACE not son
4. I am glad you are alive as well

Me bringing up crying and the topic of Destroyer87 was a joke. I'm sorry you didn't get it. At the end of your first post there you say "Anything else you'd like to tell everyone" so I used the opportunity. Truthfully, after you got busted for it years ago I forgot all about it until I saw you here.
As far as you equating a story from an online video game to me coping with bigger issues in real life....please. I'm not the one who had to milk a story about dying from cancer on an online video game to make my real life feel more complete. I'm pretty secure Sunshine. Have a nice day and I'm glad you made it over here. It seems like Mech is making a small resurrection here so make yourself at home.
