When I watched it I saw Xbox 360. Also I noticed something in part 2. Also if you pay attention in the second trailer the signs on the street seem to resemble House Davion. If it comes out on the 360 I'll probably get it.

Front Mission is coming to 360? Sweet.
What it is: Front Mission is a turn-based strategy RPG, similar to Disgaea, FF Tactics, and other games in the genre. But it has one giant advantage: Big stompy robots.
I have FM4 on my PS2...it's fairly difficult, but once you get into the rhythm of playing the game, it's a fun one.

Post subject: Re: NEW MECH SERIES GAME?!?!
From the slow, plodding nature in Trailer #2, and the timeline in Trailer #1, I thought it was a Chromehounds game at first...
But it's most certainly a Battletech Universe [Battletech / Mechwarrior / Mechassault] game. The machine in the third one is obscure as all get-out, but I'm enough of a nerd to recognize it: That's a Star-League era Jenner, no doubt about it. 4 lasers on little stubby box-shaped arms, jumps, and that hideous flying-saucer head...
That said, Jenners are effectively target practice...comparing them to 'modern' 'mechs like Timber Wolf, Blood Asp, and even Raven is like comparing beer cans and oil barrels.

The Return of MechWarrior?
Want to know what's going on? IGN has the full details.
July 7, 2009 - Earlier today, boards around the Web caught on fire with the reveal of a teaser trailer that implied a new MechWarrior game was in the making. While the speculation about the next chapter in the franchise has been flying around, we actually know what this mystery game is, what the footage entails, and how it will rock your computer.
This Thursday at 12:01 AM PDT, we'll have an interview with Jordan Weisman of Smith and Tinker and Russ Bullock, president of Piranha Games, to address the rumors and explain just what the future holds. We'll even have a few extras to keep you talking for months to come.
The rumors started earlier today when a short, nine second trailer that shows off a city street and a number of slick looking sports cars. The street starts to vibrate as a stomping sound can be overheard, and shortly thereafter, what looks like a mech leg crunches into view. The video then ends as debris is propelled from the ground due to the impact.
With FASA Interactive officially dead, the rights to the MechWarrior franchise were acquired by Smith and Tinker, which was founded by FASA founder Weisman.

*UPDATE* A second and third teaser trailer have just been released. The second is taken from inside a parking garage and shows a large bipedal mech stomping down a street with the wreckage of buildings burning in the background. Two cannons are visible on the body of the mech, and as it swivels, the trailer ends.
The third teaser trailer shows what appears to be a Jenner mech leaping atop a building.
Score! I was right about the Jenner...
*stops celebrating, realizes that if he'd bother to learn this much about something more practical than "name that 'mech", there might be a cure for Cancer or AIDS by now...*

now days, economy, cost of games, etc.. Any dev releasing something like this that doesn't have a following such as first person shooters, it would be suicide to only release it on a single platform. You won't see it on the wii, but it will be on pc, xbox and ps3.
This is amazing and eye opening news for sure. I'm sitting here ******* jizzing on myself and thinking about how many kids I have to make and sell so i can buy a new entertainment system just to play this.
I will be a one game person if this thing is arcade-ish at all.

I stand corrected, then. "Traditionally", Front Mission is a turn-based Strategy RPG.
@Scare: It's a crapshoot, though...small-name titles more or less need to be multi-platform to survive, but there's a whole other round of headaches involved in doing it. You've got the 7-'core' PPC derivative, the 3-core PPC, and whatever powers the Wii...and if the hardware layer's not abstracted out right, porting them becomes an expensive proposition.
Regardless...I'm anxiously awaiting more news. If it's Mechwarrior 5 [or 6, don't remember what they're on now] it'll be a sim...if it's MechCommander 3 it'll be an RTS...and though it's heresy around these parts, given that it might be multi-platform it probably won't be MA3 then. I don't see MS giving up their exclusive mech-game line.

Gentlemen,
I feel we need to do our jobs as mechheads, as supporters of the mech franchise and as members of this site. We need to get out there and help the buzz about this game. Every community that use to play, may be interested in playing, hell even the damn sony forums need to see this.
I'm not saying hype it up, i'm saying draw some attention so that we can prove M$ wrong when they said there was no fanbase a few years ago. obviously they believe a little now as they are publishing it, something has happened for sure.
I'm going to start going to as many sites as I can.

I think making a true Mechwarrior sim would be impossible on the console. Therefore, if it is on console it will be a more compact version of Mechwarrior A.K.A. Mechassault. If its not on console, well that sucks for some of us but I will be buying it regardless.
Where do I preorder?

It depends on how deep they go...if they do just combat and maybe the odd 'inspection' or 'low light / enhanced imaging', they could map it to a console, it'd just play more slowly than MA...and that's something only the ultra-diehards will stand for. Things have to flow on a console. If they try to go to the depth that the MW series had in 2 [and possibly later] with squad commands, all manner of extra systems, on-the-fly regrouping of weapons, ammo dumps, shutdowns and overrides, camera angles, data readouts, so on and so forth, then yeah, no way in h*ll there will ever be enough buttons without a Steel Batallion style required joystick.
Regardless...I've been thinking about getting a new rig in the spring...that might be the deciding factor.
Where do I preorder?
Follow the trail of white goo on the ground. 2 bits of advice, though:
1) Don't touch it
2) Make sure Scare's got his back to you at all times or you'll involuntarily break #1.

Maybe with Natal they will do a combo Mechwarrior-ish/RPG RPG OFFLINE...MECHASSAULT ONLINE! thats my wish anyway....it could be RPG style gaining parts and 3rd person shooter with option for cockpit views...the online just make it a simple "choose yer mech" style MA 1 game...maybe weapon loadout options but nothing too crazy....
Eh, I am just dreaming here...

Some interesting tidbits out of the IGN series of articles.
Mechwarrior reboot.
- It will be on Xbox 360 and PC
- Time setting is well before any Mechassault timeline (i.e. don't expect clan mechs like the mad cat/timmy, thor/loki, vulture, etc.)
- 4 player coop
- Urban-centric maps
- 4 mech classes: light, medium, heavy and assault
- Multiplayer-style conquest (if they get a budget for it?)
- Don't expect greens - will have some other way to repair health (prob just have to wait it out like in Gears/COD)
- From the video, the Atlas looks like crap...the Warhammer looked nice though. By the way, that Warhammer design was also used in Macross/Robotech.

I started in MW (and still play MW2 on occasion), so the more sim-style doesn't bother me any...but the idea of a MAc clan is sweet. Just don't get me started on that crime against nature trying to call itself MW3.
Setting it in the past like that...makes me wonder where they'll put it in the timeline. Stefan Amaris' coup? Any of the first 3 Succession Wars? There's a LOT of story potential for having it set before the clan invasion, though a lot of the most popular 'mechs [Timber Wolf, Mad Dog, Summoner, Hellbringer, Battle Armor, Kit Fox, and I'm far too tired to think of more first thing in the morning] will all not be around. I'd love to see the Stalker come back, though...overgrown Catapult teeming with guns.
