Post So...You Guys Like To Play Mechassault? 
 
Here I am playing some 1 VS 100 with some friends and the conversation brings up that there are a group of players still kicking around this old relic.  This was hands-down, my favorite Xbox LIVE title and I think I would like see if it plays as good as I remember.

For someone who had played Xbox over the internet a year before Xbox LIVE was even announced (Gamespy Tunnel and Xbox Connect, Look 'em up), Mechassault is what proved to me that LIVE was going to be a success.  It's hard to imagine that I might never have played it at all.  When I was doing the Beta Test for LIVE, the big question was, which of the three games would move to once the service went Live?  The choices were Whacked!, Unreal Championship, and Mechassault.  I was leaning towards Unreal, but I think it was how unique Mechassault was that made me choose that instead.

I did not even consider Whacked!, it sucked.  I can imagine that it would have to be some Mirror, Mirror universe for me to have picked that game.  If I did, I would probably have become disheartened with online console gaming and gone back to playing on the PC.  Instead of Mechassault, I would be thinking about how great the Mech Warrior series was while sitting at my desk and stroking my goatee.

Well, alternate me can stuff it, because Mechassault is awesome and I look forward to reliving a little more of that awesome.

Well, I haven't been playing a ton of Xbox like I used to.  I've mostly been playing a bit of Company of Heroes on PC.  It's kind of frustrating to see an online game without voice support built in nowadays, but it's still cool.

Since I missed the Friday game session, I'll spend the week checking my gear and replacing anything that might be worn out.

It would need to be MA1.  Although if my xbox doesn't work, then I can at least play MA2 on my 360.

Welcome....I was a beta tester too. Even though the Mechassault series is tops with me I loved Whacked!. I know most people hated it, but I thought it kicked ass! Whacked! anyone? LOL
