When you're playing underground you're the alien. But the game isn't set on earth anyway.

Which leads me to think that the humans moved to (I think the planet's called) Cera from earth for some reason. Which would again make us aliens.
Tbh, if you write Gears off as just another 'alien shooter' it's your loss. You'd only get curb stomped on GoW anyway.

I always thought Sera devoloped like Earth did, but in a different universe or galaxy or however you want to imagine it. Either way the story is great. It's really alot better then most games, and alot of the **** movies they make today. In this one I really fealt bad for some of the characters, and the cinematics we're great. I can't wait for the next Gears to come out and continue the story. It's only a matter of time as Gears seems to be Microsofts replacement for Halo now that it's dying in some corner.

Star says the game is a lot of fun, but I just don't see it.  If I want to shoot aliens, I'll play one of the countless Call of Duty titles.  I curb stomp folks in MechAssault...when Starscream isn't stealing my kills.

Go rent it Gary and I'll play throuh campaign one day with you and then you can make a decision.
What I don't understand is you don't mind the giant space robots fighting a giant space war game, but one where it's based on another planet with humanity fighting for it's survival is just another alien shoot'em up. If anything why not just write off Silent Hill or Resident Evil as another alien shoot'em up because there you fight monsters too.

Sorry, but I won't be renting this game.  It's another Halo.  It's another Silent Hill.  It's another Resident Evil, as if there wasn't enough of this genre already.  You are only contributing to the inevitable demise of the entire gaming industry by purchasing Gears of War.

We should all buy a copy of Kameo and break the monotony.

I have to agree with Phetty go rent it out first, then decide.  Although I have to mention that Silent Hill and Resident Evil aren't really good examples because ghosts and zombies use to be human so we can kinda relate to them.  

If we can prove to Gary that we share some of the same DNA makeup as the Locusts maybe then he will give it a shot.  

Yo Gary, Transformers are also alien.  Do you have the same prejudice against me as well?

How is Gears of War 2 different than Gears of War?  The same premise is there.  Aliens, aliens, and more aliens.  Give me a break.
